Part of the vision of “What the Lord is Saying Today” is “Feeding Hungry Children.” It is a call from God to minister to the poorest of the poor children living on dumpsites, under bridges and on city streets. It is a call to reverse the endemic poverty cycle of their heritage and offer transformation of families, cities and the nation.
Feeding Hungry Children helps feed nutritious, vitamin-enriched food to physically hungry, undernourished children. We desire to assure good nutrition for these poor children as a necessary building block for their learning process.
Feeding Hungry Children provides public education to those who cannot afford to attend school. For the child approved for this program, we provide tuition and school fees, books and school supplies, uniforms and transportation when needed.
Feeding Hungry Children includes teaching and training in following the ways, paths and truth of Jesus and the Holy Scriptures. This program is led and taught by approved pastors and trained Christian workers with the goal to help the children grow in spirit and in truth.
Feeding Hungry Children is on three levels: body, soul and spirit. These levels become our three-fold strategies:
• FEED THEIR BODIES
• FEED THEIR SOULS
• FEED THEIR SPIRITS
Local pastors, who already have experience in caring for the poorest of the poor children are chosen for this program. Feeding Hungry Children presently sends 547 children to school and helps feed these and hundreds more. Twenty six indigenous pastors care for and oversee this the children assisted by this program.
The Biblical pattern and foundation for this ministry:
John 21:15-17 “So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?’ He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ He saith to him again the second time, ‘Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?’ He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, ‘Feed my sheep.’ He saith unto him the third time, ‘Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?’ Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, ‘Feed my sheep.’”
1 Thessalonians 5:23 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
